Houston Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Zambrana
The Houston Sting got a superb performance from catcher Ruben Zambrana, but the Carmel Apples still won the game, 17-15. Zambrana went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 5. Carmel pitcher Alberto Calderon got the win. He's now 1-1. Luis Lugo was tagged with the loss. Kyle Ott earned save number 2 this season.

Tom Janes hit a bases-clearing triple off Phil Hardee in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Apples in front, 15-12. In addition to the triple, Janes had 2 singles and 1 walk, while going 3 for 4.

Houston manager Barnabé Bacm said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."
