Crabs Pitching Ravaged by Foucher
|
After a 5-hit effort to lead Bel Air's 7-1 victory over the Edisto Crabs, third baseman Maup Foucher told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the SINGLE A-level is really something special."
The 24-year-old player earned his accolades today at Dockside Park with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Crabs.
"His swing is getting there," said Princes skipper Leland Austin, who spoke glowingly of Foucher after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Maup did that to perfection today."
Maup Foucher singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
This year Foucher is hitting .359 with 6 home runs and 31 RBIs in 65 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .454 with 38 walks and 42 runs scored.
