3-1 Loss Extends San Antonio Losing Streak
|
Ottawa took on San Antonio in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Bill Stevenson, in particular, was fantastic. The Ottawa left-hander helped his team snag the win, 3-1. Stevenson, now 4-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up no hits, while striking out 5, walking 6, and allowing 1 run. The Civics now own a record of 22-36.
Jose Carrillo had a direct impact on the outcome. Carrillo contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Ottawa up, 2-1.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said San Antonio manager Lemn Onkwani, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
