Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Niagara Falls Barrels and Houston Sting.

The Niagara Falls Barrels beat the Houston Sting, 5-3, at Woodland Park. Bradley Whitford hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The 24-year old center fielder was a menace to Houston all day. Mark Buchholz closed the door for Niagara Falls, picking up his 2nd save of the year.

Niagara Falls took a 3-0 lead on Whitford's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Cris Suarez in the top of the seventh, propelled Niagara Falls to the win.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Whitford told the Niagara Falls Citizen, "and we played pretty well tonight."
