Sting Walk It Off for 24th Win of Season
|
The Sting had to overcome a good performance from Westside pitcher Chris Hensley to claim a 5-4 win at Woodland Park. Hensley went 7 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Houston reliever T.J. Milano got the win, raising his record to 6-3. Je-won Lim was tagged with the loss. Houston is in 5th place in the RCLA Tommy Lasorda Division with a record of 24-40.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Houston first baseman Steve Gallipeau, facing Casey Kelly, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Sting the 5-4 win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Gallipeau.
