Melton Paces Princes to 3-1 Win
|
In a tight affair between the Bel Air Princes and the St. Petersburg Pelicans, pitcher Josh Melton was in the zone. The Bel Air right-hander helped his team win the game, 3-1. Rich Blaquiere wrapped it up, recording his 11th save. The slumping Pelicans have lost 6 straight.
The standout performance belonged to 18-year-old Melton. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Princes. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Pelicans, striking out 7 and scattering 1 hit over 6 innings. Melton is now 1-4 on the season.
"When Josh is on, he can really move the ball around," said Bel Air manager Greg England.
