Scorpions Get One-Run Win at Okanagan
|
Chris Nairne pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Okanagan Lake Monsters, despite Nairne's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Sonoma Scorpions at Elks Stadium. Sonoma reliever Sergio Lopez picked up the win, upping his record to 7-1. Chris Nairne took the loss. Satoshi Kawaguchi finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Had Ryan Dethloff not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Dethloff hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Scorpions.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Sonoma manager Daniel Dillon. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The Scorpions now have a record of 36-26 with the win over Okanagan.
