Blues Better Sting, 4-3
|
The Memphis Blues managed to get by the Houston Sting, 4-3, at Woodland Park. Memphis pitcher Jim Kein set himself apart with his performance. The winner was Memphis reliever Chris Maxson, now 1-4. The loser was Chris Piotrowski. With the win, Memphis upped its record to 44-19.
Memphis won the game in part because of Johnny Rosamilia. The catcher ripped a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blues ahead, 4-3. For the game, Rosamilia had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
Rosamilia attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
