Cabo San Lucas Upended by Walnut Creek, 9-6
|
Cabo San Lucas right fielder Dennis Allen was sensational. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Walnut Creek beat the Toreros, 9-6. Walnut Creek reliever Keith Sill was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Charlie Doane took the loss. The first-place Warriors have won 4 straight.
Matt Schaefer, who finished 5th in the RCL in doubles with 49 in 2062, helped out the Walnut Creek cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 2 with a walk.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Walnut Creek manager Armando Medina.
