Mustangs Roll to 8-3 Win Over Vikings
|
San Angelo center fielder Tom Adams made his presence felt in the 8-3 Mustangs triumph over the Victoria Vikings. Adams went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. San Angelo reliever Jorge Martinez was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Wilson Luna took the loss for Victoria. San Angelo is third in the TMLA Earl Weaver Division with a record of 28-32.
San Angelo used the timely hitting of Andy Castaneda to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mustangs ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
Castaneda told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
