Dominique Comte was instrumental in his team's 11-1 triumph over the San Angelo Mustangs. The first baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Carmel Apples. The win lifted the Carmel record to 31-29.

With Carmel leading 6-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Comte came up to bat against San Angelo pitcher Danny Serna. Comte hit a fastball to left for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Apples on top, 10-1.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said San Angelo manager Luis López. "We got trounced."
