Charleston right-hander Austin Peters pitched his team to victory over the Sonoma Scorpions at Franklin Mountains Field. The final score was 3-2. Peters, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Cory Rebhahn got the save, the 1st for him this season.
John Bartoletti chipped in for Charleston, stroking a crucial 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning. For the game, the first baseman went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Charleston manager Kinnojo Hara said.
