The Moonbeam Martians got production up and down the lineup while beating the Niagara Falls Barrels, 21-2. One standout was left fielder Bob Pyke. Pyke, who is tied for 6th in the RA in runs scored with 45, went 4-4 with a home run, 3 doubles, and 2 walks, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4. Xavier Capetillo picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 6-0. Todd Meserole had a big 2-run double for the Martians in the bottom of the first inning. With Moonbeam leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from fireballing right-hander Zach McDermott and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Martians ahead, 3-0.
