On Road, Houston Beats Memphis, 6-3
|
Houston Sting left-hander Josh McBride pitched a good game against the Memphis Blues at The Barn, leading his team to victory, 6-3. Josh McBride, who is tied for 3rd in the RHA with a 2.98 ERA, picked up the win in relief. Steve Hart took the loss for Memphis. Danny Umanzor finished the game for Houston and earned his 18th save.
Houston used the timely hitting of Bernie Herrera to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Sting on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said McBride.
The Sting lead the RCL HA Tommy Lasorda Division by 3 games.
