The Houston Sting picked up a win at Woodland Park, downing the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 5-3, in 10 innings. On the mound for Houston was right-hander Steve Thomas, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Sting sit in 5th place in the RCL A Tommy Lasorda Division with a record of 18-29.

Houston got a knockout punch from Tony Coleman. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

Coleman told a Houston Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
