Pelicans Lose, 2-1, at Baylor Ballpark
|
The Brisbane Bush Wackers eked out a 2-1 win versus the St. Petersburg Pelicans at Baylor Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Jonathan Gomez, who captured player of the game honors. Picking up the save was Angelo Zuniga, his 5th. Brisbane is now 22-31, while St. Petersburg is 23-34.
Brisbane took a 2-0 lead on Tim Larson's 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Larson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left St. Petersburg pitcher Mike Palmbos visibly frustrated.
"We were in it," said St. Petersburg manager Curt Rhodes. "We just didn't score enough runs."
