Bison Pop Eclipse, 9-4
|
Though he had a terrific game, Sean Martineau could not prevent his team, the Chicago Eclipse, from absorbing a loss. Buffalo won the game, 9-4. Martineau was 3-3 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jason Goodrich, the winning pitcher, improved to 6-4. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The third-place Bison now have a record of 26-28.
Buffalo used the hitting of Josh Bye to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Bison on top, 2-0. For the game, Bye had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Bye. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
