The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Niagara Falls Barrels could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Jason Engel into a win. Instead, the Brisbane Bush Wackers prevailed, 4-3. Engel went 1 for 1 with a home run and 3 walks. Ricky Mora picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Jose Rodriguez suffered the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Bill Simmons in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Rodriguez to win the game for Brisbane. The home crowd went nuts.
"This joint was rocking," said Simmons.
Niagara Falls has now lost 4 in a row.
