Late Offense Lifts Nichols to 5-3 Victory
Nichols and Brownsville duked it out and the Gnats came out victorious.

The Nichols Gnats downed the Brownsville Bandits, 5-3, at Bandits Grove. Tim Thompson led the way, going 2-for-2 for Nichols. Junzo Yamabe earned save number 10 this season.

Thompson had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-0 cutter from Danny Trevino, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Gnats a 5-3 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Thompson.

"This was a good win," said Thompson.

The 4th-place Gnats have a record of 22-23.
