Mounties Lose to Earthquakes in Walk-Off
The San Francisco Earthquakes turned back the Montreal Mounties, 7-6, at Golden Gate Park. Antonio Almeida, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. San Francisco reliever Josh Christie was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-2. Eric Wilkinson took the loss for Montreal. With the win, San Francisco raised its record to 26-21.

Gil Delk was the walk-off hero for San Francisco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Earthquakes second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"The fans went nuts at the end," Almeida said.
