Andrews Helps Nichols Outscore Brownsville
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Gene Andrews, the Nichols Gnats defeated the Brownsville Bandits, 11-10. Andrews was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Gnats. Junzo Yamabe picked up the save for Nichols, his 9th of the year. Nichols, at 21-23, holds down 5th place in the TML A Earl Weaver Division.

In the top of the eighth, Andrews put his team in front with his 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came against David Frisk, made it 11-9, Nichols.

Andrews told a Nichols Bulletin reporter that he was "very pleased" with the win.
