Win Streak Now at 7 for Vikings

The Victoria Vikings extended their winning streak at The Pond.
The Victoria Vikings defeated the Nichols Gnats, 8-4. Earning player of the game honors was shortstop Raul Gutierrez, who was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Vikings, at 28-22, have now won 7 straight.
Victoria used the timely hitting of Gabe Gutierrez to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Vikings on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The vibe's good," said Victoria manager Bernardo Moreno. "We've got to keep it going."
