Kasey Mayo did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Charleston Panthers from being beaten, 7-5, to the Kingwood Knights at Stable Park. Mayo was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Omar Cedeno collected save number 9. The losing skid has reached 8 games for Charleston.
The Knights got a big at-bat from second baseman Kevin DiMaio. For the game, DiMaio went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Kingwood a 2-1 lead.
Charleston manager Harry Howell said: "I think, very simply put, we're not playing the caliber of baseball right now that is a winning caliber of baseball."
