Five O's Rebuff Pelicans, 5-3
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Oconomowoc Five O's and St. Petersburg Pelicans.

The Oconomowoc Five O's picked up a win at Arnold Field, topping the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-3. On the mound for Oconomowoc was right-hander Jesus Vazquez. He played a principal role in the triumph. Hamilton Thomas recorded the save, his 5th.

Doug Escamilla had a big 2-run double for the Five O's in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Oconomowoc leading 3-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Michiki Kobayashi and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Five O's ahead, 5-1.

"Jesus was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Oconomowoc manager Evan Thorne.

Oconomowoc sits in second place in the TML A Dick Williams Division at 23-20.
