The Nichols Gnats extended their winning streak.

Behind a solid performance from right fielder Rickey Jansen, the Nichols Gnats defeated the Charleston Panthers, 12-3. Jansen was 2-3 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Gnats. David Torres picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-0. Joey Lizotte, who is tied for 4th in the TA in complete games with 1, was tagged with the loss.

With Nichols trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Jansen hit a changeup from Joey Lizotte for a 2-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Gnats ahead, 2-1.

"Sometimes the runs come in bunches," said Jansen after the game.

The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Gnats.
