Pat May was a vital contributor to the 6-3 St. Paul victory over Carmel. The Saints right fielder was 3-4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 and driving in 4. St. Paul pitcher Tony Cordova earned the win, hiking his record to 3-1. Lorenzo Ledesma suffered the loss. Picking up his 6th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Roberto Diaz.

May had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 sinker from Lorenzo Ledesma, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Saints a 6-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for May.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said St. Paul manager Daisuke Nishida.

The Saints raised their record to 15-28.
