Nichols got a terrific game from center fielder Jose Castillo. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Okanagan, 8-7. Castillo went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Okanagan reliever Christian Hargrett was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Vinny Ortiz took the loss. Jorge Ramirez earned the save for Okanagan, his 7th.

Had Jason Craig not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Craig hit a 2-run single. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Lake Monsters.

"I do my best to contribute," said Craig.

With the win, Okanagan upped its record to 25-25.
