Big Day by Albaladejo Sparks River Bandits Win
|
The San Antonio River Bandits defeated the St. Paul Saints, 10-7, in RCLA action at Saints Ballpark, with San Antonio shortstop Alex Albaladejo named player of the game. Joe Jahns was called on to finish, recording his 10th save. San Antonio currently is in second place in the RCLA Tommy Lasorda Division at 28-21.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Carlos Palencia was at the plate when San Antonio scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the River Bandits to go in front, 7-6.
"Enjoyed this one," Albaladejo told the San Antonio Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
