Sasquatch Lose to Pilots, 8-4
|
The Jacksonville Pilots stopped the Seattle Sasquatch, 8-4, behind an impressive performance from Sam Corson. The fan favorite made life miserable for Seattle pitching. He went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Jacksonville reliever Oscar Lopez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Thor Odinson was saddled with the loss. Jacksonville is 5th in the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division with a record of 23-22.
With Jacksonville trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Corson hit a slider from Thor Odinson for a 2-run home run. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Pilots ahead, 2-1.
Said Jacksonville manager Ryan Currie: "We squared some balls up."
