Despite a great performance by Eureka left fielder Josh Sweet, the Kansas City Tornadoes defeated the Hornets by the score of 4-2 at The Nest. Sweet went 4 for 4 with 3 doubles. Paul Alexander, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-7. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Earning his 12th save for Kansas City was Bobby Milleville.

Mike Hernandez, who is tied for 2nd in the RCL in doubles with 17, had a direct impact on the outcome. Hernandez contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Kansas City up, 3-0.

"Do what you're good at," said Kansas City manager Lewis Cannon. "That's all I ask of the team."

Kansas City is now 20-34, while Eureka is 33-20.
