Vikings Stick Knights with 8-5 Loss

Victoria and Ocala duked it out and the Vikings came out victorious.
The Victoria Vikings handed the Ocala Knights a loss at The drakkar. The final score was 8-5. Ryan Pruett was one of the major contributors for Victoria. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 4. Francisco Guevara got the win, improving to 2-3. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 5. Mike Fields recorded the save, his 7th.
Matt Cochran had a big 2-run home run for the Vikings in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Victoria trailing 4-3 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a cutter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Dominguez and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Vikings on top, 5-4.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Pruett told the Victoria Daily News.
At 16-18, Victoria is in 5th place in the TML A Earl Weaver Division.
