The Moonbeam Martians powered past the Bel Air Princes, 8-1, at Abbey Stadium. Jonathan Aguillar provided some of the pop. Dream went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Ken Anderson closed the door for Moonbeam, picking up his 1st save of the year. The Martians win now puts them at 33-8.

Tom Verbeek had a big 3-run home run for the Martians in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Moonbeam trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Carlos Facio, who is tied for 9th in the RHA in innings pitched with 53.1, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Martians on top, 3-1.

Verbeek attributed the win to his team's "dogged determination."
