Knights Bang Out 7-6 Win Versus Okanagan
|
The Kingwood Knights overcame a good performance by Okanagan first baseman John Whitney to knock off Okanagan, 7-6, at Elks Stadium. Whitney went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Mike Casper, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. The Knights sit in 4th place in the TML HA Dick Williams Division with a record of 16-25.
Kingwood used a clutch at-bat from Pat Robb to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Knights ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Robb, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
