Thiel Stars for Knights in 8-2 Win
Getting a good performance from center fielder Jim Thiel, the Kingwood Knights defeated the Sonoma Scorpions, 8-2. Thiel was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Knights. The 4th-place Knights lifted their record to 19-21.

Thiel contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Kingwood in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Thiel took a changeup from Clayton Nygren and stroked the home run to right-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Knights to leap in front, 2-1.

"I hope we get a nice reward for this win," said Thiel. "Like maybe a lighter workout schedule."
