Pelicans Snatch 3-2 Win
The St. Petersburg Pelicans earned a win at Billy Mathews Field, knocking off the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws, 3-2. On the bump for St. Petersburg was right-hander Alex Gurule. He had a starring role in the triumph. The victory makes St. Petersburg 8-26.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Pelicans had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when center fielder Willie Moya hit a 2-run single. The single came off Chris Sipes and made the score 2-0, Pelicans. Moya went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.

"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Pelicans manager Gilbert Drader.
