Starting pitcher James Towns pitched well enough to help the Ottawa Civics beat the Memphis Blues, 5-4. The winner was Omar Sevilla in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Francisco Rodriguez took the loss. The save went to Greg Pond, number 9 for him.

Ottawa took a 5-4 lead on Danny Romero's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Romero hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Memphis pitcher Francisco Rodriguez visibly frustrated.
