Powered by Ben Aldridge, the Carmel Apples downed the Brownsville Bandits, 5-1. Aldridge was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Apples. Tony Hazelgrove earned the win, while 18-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Grange took the loss for Brownsville. For Brownsville, now 21-10, wins have been plentiful, losses few.
Carmel took a 5-1 lead on Aldridge's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Alfonso Sorto in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Carmel to the win.
"We've got great fans," said Aldridge. "I hope they got what they came for."
