|
New Orleans starter Scott Heck pitched effectively against the Williamsport Crosscutters at Crosscutters Park. The left-hander led his team to a 4-3 win. New Orleans reliever Ryan Matherne picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Josh Gary absorbed the loss. Sean Mapson got the save, the 9th for him this season.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the ninth, Jerry Brisco hit a 2-run home run. The Jedi Knights took the lead, 4-3.
In postgame comments to the New Orleans News, Brisco said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The Jedi Knights saw their record improve to 19-19.
