Kersting Stars as Dancin' Outlaws Top Saints, 13-2
|
Good production from catcher Grant Kersting helped the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws topple the St. Paul Saints, 13-2. Kersting was 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Dancin' Outlaws. John Peters, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 3-1. With the win, West Virginia climbs to 14-17.
With West Virginia leading 8-0 in the top of the seventh, Kersting batted against St. Paul pitcher Marcos Sanchez. Kersting hit a cutter to left for a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Dancin' Outlaws on top, 12-0.
"I like easy wins," Kersting told the West Virginia Bulletin.
