Marshall pitcher Nate Gavin did his part in helping his team defeat the Kingwood Knights, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. With the loss, Kingwood drops to 14-16.

Troy Darling had a big 2-run double for the Lawmen in the top of the second inning. With Marshall leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Ricky Morales and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lawmen ahead, 5-0.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Darling said.
