Sting Edge Princes, 3-2
|
The Houston Sting stymied the Bel Air Princes, 3-2, at Woodland Park. Kurt Dunham, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times for Houston. Houston reliever Ken Morey got the win, raising his record to 5-0. Edwin Peinado was tagged with the loss. Houston is now 17-19, while Bel Air is 19-16.
The Sting got a lift from third baseman Jose Brizuela who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Edwin Peinado. It was his 7th walk of the season and put Houston in front, 1-0.
"We'll savor this win," Dunham told the Houston Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
