The Williamsport Crosscutters got a sterling performance from pitcher Jorge Ortiz, but the Jedi Knights still prevailed, 5-2. Ortiz was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Sean Mapson earned the save for New Orleans, his 8th of the year. The last-place Crosscutters have dropped 4 straight games.
The outcome might have been different for New Orleans, had it not been for Jose Medina, the 22-year old center fielder . Medina stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put New Orleans up, 2-1. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
