Gnats Pick Up 11-2 Win Against Victoria
The Nichols Gnats beat the Victoria Vikings, 11-2. Nichols pitcher and Mérida, Mexico, native Carlos Canales led the way. The winning pitcher was Canales, now 2-3. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 4. The win leaves Nichols with a record of 14-15.

Arturo Mancero had a big 2-run triple for the Gnats in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Nichols leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Chris Cox, who is tied for 4th in the TA in complete games with 1, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 3rd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gnats ahead, 4-0.

Victoria manager Jim Edwards called the blowout loss "not my idea of a good time."
