Magicians Down Bush Wackers, 6-4
|
The Baltimore Magicians besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Brisbane shortstop Pat Ringler by beating the Bush Wackers, 6-4, at Baltimore Stadium. Ringler went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Jeff Raether went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. The left-hander struck out 6 and walked 6. With the win, he ups his record to 1-3 this season. The win gives Baltimore a season record of 20-14.
The Magicians got a big at-bat from right fielder Steve Aultz. For the game, Aultz was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Baltimore a 3-2 lead.
Aultz attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
