Savard Helps Brownsville Outscore Hazleton
|
The Brownsville Bandits defeated the Hazleton Birdwings by the score of 12-10, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Dan Savard. Savard was 2-2 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Bandits on the day. Brownsville reliever Jacob Allen picked up the win, while Omar Sanabria took the loss for Hazleton. The Bandits keep rolling, raising their record to 19-9.
Aaron Knowles, who is tied for 8th in the RA in runs scored with 28, took Hazleton hurler Omar Sanabria deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Bandits on top, 11-10. In all, Knowles had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Hazleton manager Roberto Flores said he was disappointed with the loss. "Whenever you score that many runs, you expect to win the game."
