Buffalo got a decent performance from pitcher Jorge Torres, but it wasn't enough to beat the El Paso Mavericks. El Paso won the The Corral contest, 3-2. Torres came in in relief and pitched to 28 batters for the losing team. El Paso reliever Dan Jacobs was the winner. His record is now 5-1. Jorge Torres took the loss. The win lifted the El Paso record to 24-21.

El Paso designated hitter Tim DePascale contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Mavericks ahead, 3-0.

After the game, El Paso manager Lorenzo Castillo applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
