Montgomery Powers Mavericks Offense
|
El Paso and Buffalo duked it out and the Mavericks came out victorious.
Steve Montgomery was a major factor in the 7-4 El Paso win over Buffalo. The Mavericks catcher went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Jeff Kappel was the winner. He's now 1-1. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Chris Courtney. Jeff Dalton closed out the game, earning his 3rd save.
Matt Dahlk, who is tied for 2nd in the RCL in bases on balls with 31, aided the El Paso cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 2-5 with a triple, while scoring 2 runs.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Dahlk.
The 5th-place Mavericks have a record of 20-25.
