The Ottawa Civics thumped the St. Paul Saints, 10-1, at Saints Ballpark. Alfonso Perez was a big reason his team got the win. Perez was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The win takes Ottawa to 18-11.

Ottawa used the timely hitting of Arturo Gutierrez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Civics on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Good pitching and timely hitting is a recipe for success," said Perez.
