Bush Wackers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mustangs
|
San Angelo pitcher Tom Tipping gave the Bush Wackers all they could handle, but in the end, Brisbane left Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium with a 7-6 win. Tipping allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 6.1 innings. Reliever Danny Herrera picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Ted Gray took the loss. Mike Wadleigh recorded his 6th save for Brisbane.
It could have been a different outcome for Brisbane, had it not been for Ernesto Rios, the top prospect . Rios contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Brisbane up, 7-6.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Brisbane manager Lester Burrow.
With the loss, San Angelo drops to 15-14.
