Victoria Sent Home with 6-4 Loss
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Memphis Blues and Victoria Vikings.
Memphis parlayed a decent outing from starter Arturo Alvarez into a solid win over the Victoria Vikings. The final score was 6-4. Alvarez, now 1-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 6, and allowing 1 run.
Memphis third baseman Forrest Suggs landed a blow when he belted a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 3rd home run of the season. With it, the Blues took a 6-0 lead.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Alvarez. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
Memphis, at 22-6, is off to a blistering start.
