McFadyen 3-for-3, Bandits Move to 17-9
|
The exploits of first baseman Harvey McFadyen, who leads the RHA in home runs with 11, helped the Brownsville Bandits defeat the Houston Sting, 5-1. McFadyen was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Brownsville goes to 17-9 with the win.
Brownsville took a 2-1 lead on Dave Scarlett's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run, which Scarlett hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Houston pitcher Leo Sanchez visibly frustrated.
Brownsville manager Izumo Ikarashi commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
