San Antonio Nerve Tested in 7-6 Win
|
Nolan Blair did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Elizabeth Town Thunder from being beaten, 7-6, to the San Antonio River Bandits at Dr Pepper Stadium. Blair went 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. San Antonio reliever Angel Bonilla picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Rod Morin was tagged with the loss. To call the performance of the 2062 Thunder subpar is an understatement.
San Antonio got a knockout punch from Bruno Chauveau. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"This place was electric at the end," Chauveau said.
