The Chippewa River Chiefs topped the Carmel Apples, 7-5, with center fielder Eric Sabol playing a big role. Sabol went 2 for 5 with a triple and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the River Chiefs in the win. Jose Acosta came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-0. After losing, Carmel is 13-9.

Chippewa took a 6-3 lead on Sabol's 12th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Symão Alegro in the top of the sixth, propelled Chippewa to the win.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Sabol told the Chippewa Herald.
